Life in Kansas...
Kristen :)
Bethany, Rebekah, and me with our youth pastor, who was the pastor at the wedding.
Me and my friend, Laura, my youth pastor's wife. This past Saturday my big sis Kristen got married. All of the sisters were bridesmaids so I was in my first wedding! I was a mixture of excited and nervous, mostly because I was playing a harp solo during the unity candle in front of 300 people. It went great though, even though right before it my hands got all sweaty and I couldn't remember my music. Unlike you'd normally think of weddings, Kristen and Dave's wedding wasn't stressful. They did a great job of thinking thru all the seemingly unimportant details and planning everything ahead of time. It was a beautiful wedding and the reception was a blast. As I looked out at the crowd, it was a reminder to influence people and pour into their lives. It made me question, "Whose going to be at my wedding?" On Sunday, our family forgot to wake my sister and I up so we literally got up 10 minutes before we walked out the door. Right after church, our parents took our brother to the airport. Our Dad's cousin, Brent (whose pretty much awesome. We go to his house a lot of the 4th of July.), was visiting and took me and my sisters out to a fancy Mexican restaurant. We had delicious chimichanga, doctor pepper, re-fried beans, warm cheese sauce and chips. We had a blast talking and joking around. After lunch, we went across the road to Sonic, possibly the most amazing place ever. And it is the best invention since...right, Joanna? After ordering cherry and strawberry limades, we sat down on the tables outside and stayed there for an hour and half, just enjoying the shade and breeze. For the first time in forever, I didn't have places to go or people to see. Monday was a great day for cleaning and catching up on a lot of things I'd let slack. Today has also been a really good day. We got to take our youth pasor, Justin, to Pratt for his birthday. It was actually a couple weeks early but he is moving and, hence, won't be here for his birthday. He absolutely adores McDonalds so we surprised him and took him there. After grabbing his lunch, we headed over to Taco Bell to get food for Bethany. Then we went to Sonic where I got lunch and ate outside in the sunshine. Two Sonic trips in one week?! It's a good time to be alive. The trip was good and sad. Good because we had fun taking lots of random side roads (you know roads that you always think, "I want to go down there sometime. I wonder where that leads) and joked around. It was bsad because it'll be one of our last times to hang out with Justin before they move. I'm so sad the Mourns are moving, but I wouldn't trade the last two years with them for anything. We've gone on a mission trip together, done a small group, and grown in our faith together. We've created dozen of inside jokes, taken fun trips, and done service projects side-by-side. Well, enough of my ramblings. Right now I am looking up recipes for Nepalese food (since I am going there this summer). And tomorrowe we're leaving for a forensics compeition in Minnesota. I'll update how it goes!
